Our History
SUD EMOTION was started in 1988 by Luc Fertin. Luc has a passion for motor-racing and, on his return from the Paris-Dakar race, decided to settle in the Basque Country, in the south-west of France, and set up an organisation offering trips on 4x4s for agencies and companies. He wanted to create an adventure open to everyone.
The 4x4 project became such a success that his customers were asking for more, and so resulted in the setting up of SUD EMOTION in 1993. Its aim was to provide its customers with a very different kind of group event experience.
Within the last 15 years there have been at least 1800 events for groups of 8 to 1000 people throughout the Basque Country and in Africa.
With Luc’s continual search for originality and innovation he created the first rally of 2CV cars in 2002. These beloved old-fashioned cars, now modernised and painted yellow, soon became the ‘stars’ of the agency. They have been up and down the roads of France and, thanks to their fame, this project is now being developed elsewhere.
The committed team at SUD EMOTION now hopes to use its many years of experience of innovative and original events to provide both a national and international service, accompanying its clients throughout the world.
